On Jan 11th students from Cornerstone Christian Academy
participated with students from eighteen other schools in the District Power of the Pen Competition.Power of the Pen is an annual creative writing competition among public, private and Christian schools in the state of Ohio.
Members of the seventh grade team from Cornerstone included, Amber Adache, Courtney Coiro, Michael Hermelin, Cynthia Nichols, Jenny O'Donnell and Aaron Ullman.
Members of the eight grade team from Cornerstone were David Casey, Rachel Eversole, Julie Peticca, Audrey Schaefer, Aaron Smith and Nate Zeigler.
Cornerstone's seventh grade team walked away with a third place trophy.
Personal honors went to Courntey Coiro who took tenth place and Amber Adache who took fifth place out of ninety-seven students.
In the eight grade Aaron Smith took the Best of Round, which means that of the one hundred and six students who wrote, he produced the best story in round one.

On March 1, Cornerstone will be represented six students in the Regional Power of the Pen to be held at Shaker Heights Middle School.
Those that qualified are: Amber Adache, Courtney Coiro, Aaron Ullman, Jenny O'Donnell, Aaron Smith and Nate Zeigler.
