Editor's note: Mrs. Jeunnette's eight grade science class hosted the visit of Fox TV8 Cleveland weatherman Andre Bernier recently. Mr. Bernier shared stories about his journey of faith and his love for the world around us. What follows are essays written by two students.
The job is harder than it looks

Andre Bernier is the weather forecaster for Channel Eight News. His job is a lot harder than most of us think it is. His early mornings start at one-fifty a.m. For most of us, it would be hard to find time to have daily devotions or even just spend one minute with God, but Andre wakes up earlier than necessary to make sure that he can get that done or spend time in his ministry.I think that God reveled Andre's current occupation to him at a young age. At the age of three, while he and his friend were playing in the sandbox, God sent a black cloud. That was the day Andre developed his interest in meteorology.
I think God has used Andre to share his personal testimony and to share the gospel with people all over the United States. Also, while being a weather forecaster, God has given Andre another chance to share the gospel by giving him the gift and the opportunity to become a minister. God has used Andre in many ways but he has also truly blessed him with a wife, son, and from what he says, an awesome job, too.
Andre Bernier is a wonderful Christian example and also a hard worker. He sticks to any situation life throws at him knowing that God will always be by his side.
How God works in mysterious ways

God has special plans for each and every one of us throughout our lives. He uses us in amazing ways to preach and tell of His good works. God has chosen Mr. Andre Bernier and has placed him into a position where he can be a witness to those who need the Lord. Mr. Bernier is a strong Christian whose job is a weather man for News Channel 8.
He is also in the process of working to become a pastor. Even though his weatherman working hours are long and tiring, he still sets aside time for God. Being in the media, on TV, and making appearances by speaking to groups of people, he is helping to advance God's kingdom. Even though sometimes it's hard for him to share the Gospel on television, God works in mysterious ways and guides him.
Mr. Bernier is a kind and considerate man who stopped by to share his testimony and talk about weather with my class, after a long day of work. He told us about his life, starting when he was a child. As a child, only a few years old, Andre found the special gift God have him, which was his love for weather. He grew up spending time studying and preparing for his future career in meteorology. This story taught me how God uses His chosen to spread the Gospel in special ways. You don't have to be a world-famous person to change lives, God could use anyone to make a difference.
